Karissa Richards, MSN, APRN
Karissa received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Indiana University prior to obtaining her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Cincinnati. She is Nationally Board Certified (NCC) in Women’s Health as well as licensed through the Florida Board of Nursing. She has additional specialized training in breast ultrasound and breast oncology as well as being an associate member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons.
Karissa has been caring for patients in this area for 15 years with additional experience in primary care and gynecology. Her passion is women’s health and she welcomes the opportunity to care for patients with benign and malignant breast issues. She resides in Martin county with her husband, two sons and Goldendoodle. In her free time her family enjoys camping across Florida.
Dr. Sanderson is a general surgeon specializing in diseases of the breast. She has privileges at Cleveland Clinic Martin Health, St. Lucie Medical Center and St Lucie Surgery Center. She received her medical degree from Cornell University Medical College and completed her fellowship in Surgical Breast Oncology at the University of Texas Southwestern. She has lived and practiced in the Treasure Coast since 2006 caring for women and men with breast cancer and melanoma. She participates in clinical research and continuing education and is active in community outreach.
Dr. Sanderson has lived in Martin county for fifteen years. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She is always accompanied by her best friend Greta Schnitzel, her little dog.
